Children's authors visit Pinkwell School

Children were very lucky in Pinkwell Primary School at the beginning of October as not one but TWO authors and an illustrator come and visit them in Key Stage Two.

Sarah Mcintyre and Philip Reeve came to speak to parents and children in Years 3 and 4, telling them all about their book Pugs of The Frozen North. They created a game with us which children actually got to play with a giant dice! We invented new kinds of snow and even had a master class in how to draw a pug. The afternoon was completed with a singalong about pugs and the things they get up to at the north pole. Reeve and Mcintyre even joined us after school to meet their fans and sign copies of their books.

Year 5 and 6 were joined by author Tamsyn Murray, who was here to tell us all about her new series of books Completely Cassidy. In this series, Cassie has just started secondary school and is keen to find out what her talents are and so Tamsyn had us trying to lick our own elbows, hula hooping, plate spinning and even modelling balloon animals and swords!

All the children and adults had great fun joining in and Tamsyn brought her sparkly pens with her so she could chat to us as she signed our books after school!
