John Locke Academy

John Locke Academy is a three form primary academy serving the local community in Uxbridge with a vision to make learning irresistible. The academy opened in 2014 with 35 pupils and has grown to over 300 with three forms of entry in all year groups. We are very proud that after our first OFSTED inspection (May, 2017) we were graded as an outstanding school. We have the unique opportunity, under the leadership of principal Darrell Butler, to develop a learning community that builds on the best practice across The Elliot Academy Foundation Trust, whilst working closely with local schools.

Our community is being built by a very engaged parent and governing body who are actively involved in developing the ethos of the academy; staff who are committed to creating a vibrant, stimulating curriculum in a safe environment and happy children who are enthusiastic, engaged learners. Our brand new building is housed in the heart of St. Andrew’s Park, formerly the site of RAF Uxbridge, serving the new housing complex being built there alongside the established community in Uxbridge.

John Locke Academy’s vision is to make learning irresistible, ensuring that all our pupils have the skills and strategies they need to prepare them for each stage of their education. We share John Locke’s philosophy that education is key to children having control and choice in their lives – opening and broadening minds to the wider world so that they can be successful.
