John Locke Academy

John Locke Academy opened in September 2014 with a vision for making learning irresistible. Our brand new building is housed in the heart of St. Andrew’s Park, formally the site for RAF Uxbridge, serving the new housing complex being built there alongside the established community in Uxbridge. After our successful opening with nursery and reception children, we will grow each year expanding to a three form entry academy from nursery to year 6 by 2020. With no history to hinder us, we have the unique opportunity, under the leadership of principal Darrell Butler, to develop a learning community that builds on the best practice across The Elliot Academy Foundation Trust, whilst working closely with local schools. Our community is being built by a very engaged parent and governing body who are actively involved in developing the ethos of the academy; staff who are committed to creating a vibrant, stimulating curriculum in a safe environment and happy children who are enthusiastic, engaged learners.

John Locke Academy vision is to make learning irresistible, ensuring that all our pupils have the skills and strategies they need to prepare them for each stage of their education. We share John Locke’s philosophy that education is key to children having control and choice in their lives – opening and broadening minds to the wider world so that can be successful.
