What are we doing?

The Elliot Foundation Academies Trust (TEFAT), as the Admissions Authority for the schools listed below, is commencing a statutory consultation on some of its proposed Admissions Policies for the academic year 2027/2028.

We seek to ensure that local stakeholders have the opportunity to review and comment on all aspects. The full draft policies are below.

The consultation runs from 24 November 2025 to 5 January 2026 (six weeks).

Why?

For each school involved, we have listed the main reason for the consultation below, with any significant changes communicated in easily accessible language. Stakeholders are nonetheless encouraged to read the policy/policies in full.

Valley Primary School and Peterbrook Primary School
These schools joined TEFAT in the last academic year. We are required to formally consult on adopting the standard TEFAT Admissions Policy. The main change compared to the previous local authority policy is that the TEFAT over-subscription criteria does not recognise a defined ‘catchment’ area, rather it uses a measurement of distance to the school site.

Westwood Primary School
Westwood is experiencing falling numbers of children requesting places in school, which is impacting on the school’s ability to efficiently provide education for children. They would like to reduce their planned admission number to 90, from 120.

Rounds Green Primary
The school is seeking to incorporate their nursery provision into their main school admissions policy.

Rowley Hall Primary
This school joined TEFAT in the last academic year. We are required to formally consult on adopting the standard TEFAT Admissions Policy. The main change compared to the previous local authority policy is that it includes a specific priority in the oversubscription criteria for children of staff who have been employed for two or more years, or were recruited to fill a post with a demonstrable skill shortage.
